InPress celebrates 13 years as a New Mexico based business, serving clients not only from the Land of Enchantment but regionally as well. The mission of InPress, LLC is to build the reputation of its clients by highlighting what they do best. Erica Asmus-Otero
Erica Asmus-Otero, Owner

Owner and founder, Erica Asmus-Otero, has 20 years of experience in the field of Public Relations and Integrated Marketing with a Journalism background. Prior to launching InPress, LLC in 2011, Erica launched the first morning show as an anchor and reporter for KGNS-TV in Texas, later returning to Albuquerque where she worked for KOAT-TV, as a reporter.

 

After transitioning into Public Relations, Erica took on the role as Public Information Officer for 34 New Mexico State Parks, increasing overall visitation, and later became the Communications Director for the Behavioral Health Collaborative (of NMDOH). There, she successfully worked to change perceptions about behavioral health issues.

Erica has extensive experience with tourism, business and non profit clients, among others. A few clients include Sandoval County, Archdiocese of Santa Fe, NM Tourism Department-led Intertribal Ceremonial Office, Village of Jemez Springs, Books of Joy and McDonald's (in conjunction with Fitzgerald Petersen Communications), IBH Media, Locker 505, among others.

Erica consistently leverages her journalism background to pique media interest. She is a believer in the power of earned media, and tapping into influencers who impact trends and news. Resulting articles have appeared in major publications and television shows including NBC’s Today Show, Sunset Magazine, CNN Travel, New York Times, Fox News, National Geographic Traveler, Los Angeles Times, Travel and Leisure, Smithsonian Magazine, Bloomberg, USA Today 10Best, Huffington Post, Denver Post, Austin American Statesman, as others, as well as local media outlets including Albuquerque Journal, KOB-4, KOAT-7, KRQE-News 13, FOX NM Style, and many more.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications with a minor in Psychology from the University of New Mexico. Erica is the Chair of the New Mexico Hospitality Association, the Vice Chair of the New Mexico Tourism Department's Central Regional Marketing Board and is a member of New Mexico Public Relations Society of America.


Erica enjoys spending time with her family traveling, writing and photographing the beauty of New Mexico and the world around her.
